The Clinical Value Compass (first defined at Dartmouth, www.dartmouth.edu) illustrates the four important criteria necessary to define and assess the quality of care. iHASMD provides an innovative and unique telehealth platform to assist healthcare providers in meeting each fundamental requirement in a user friendly, efficient manner:
1. Utilization (appropriate use of healthcare resources at the right time and the right place)
2. Costs (direct and indirect)
3. Satisfaction (with healthcare and perceived benefit – access, ability to engage patients, families and providers to improve care coordination)
4. Clinical outcomes (such as complications, functional status)
All four compass points are important to define and measure the quality of care in a comprehensive manner. Improvement in the care process requires consideration of all four compass quadrants. While many other telehealth solutions allow you to navigate in a single direction on the value compass, iHASMD, with its unique integrated system approach, enables you to travel to and connect each of the four corners of the entire care process.
Patient Provider Health Plan Self-payer (Employer)
Patient Benefits
With the click of a mouse, the patient can attend a real-time virtual visit with a provider, access relevant educational material, record symptoms, capture and store snapshots and videos of a condition (wound, rash, etc.). Any of this can take place from the comfort of the patient's home or in a designated clinic setting. The benefits can include:
bullet Improved access to care
bullet Reduced costs and driving distances
bullet Enhanced satisfaction – increased access to information
bullet Ability to include other family members / caregivers in a virtual visit if desired
Provider Benefits
iHASMD gives the provider a unique opportunity to have a real-time audio-video virtual visit while simultaneously interacting with medical records (EMR) and viewing lab results, images or other available data / information on a single computer screen. This advanced interface can simulate "in-office visits", and improve physician productivity and efficiency during telehealth encounters. iHASMD provides the option to record the entire audio-video encounter, allowing improvement in documentation, efficiency and accuracy as well as providing a platform for patient education.
Health Plan Benefits
iHASMD provides the payor with a vehicle to enhance access, safety, quality, affordability and patient-centered care, leading to reduced unnecessary ER visit and hospital readmissions. With iHASMD, the potential to shift the point of care from the hospital/clinic to the patient's home or from tertiary center to outpatient clinic can be realized. Expected benefits include:
bullet Improved quality and safety
bullet Reduced costs
bullet Empowering providers to offer true and affordable patient-centered care services
bullet Promoting loyalty of patients and family to health plan
Self-payer (Employer) Benefits
Improving access and providing timely 24x7 care for all employees has been shown to reduce healthcare costs for employers or self-payers (Boeing, for example, experienced a 20% reduction in health care costs per employee by providing 24x7 access to providers, NewYork Times, July 23, 2010). iHASMD can provide a cost effective, high technology solution to improve access via virtual visits. Expected benefits could include:
bullet Improved employee productivity
bullet Enhanced employee satisfaction
bullet Reduced risk-management costs
bullet Lower overall healthcare costs
bullet Offering true and affordable patient-centered care services to all employees
bullet Promoting patient advocacy and loyalty

Solutions presented in the abc Model™, we believe, will change your thinking about employee benefit plans.

The abc Model™ meaningful health benefits package consists of two components:
1. Improved access to healthcare providers when and where an employee or family member needs to discuss a health condition. The abc Model™ allows for improved access to healthcare providers using world class technology - the iHASMD advanced and innovative telehealth platform that connects healthcare providers to employees (as schematically shown in Figure below) at the workplace or at home through secure real-time video visits (MouseCalls™). Employees will benefit from technology via video visits (MouseCalls™) and health management, enabling increased opportunities for improving wellness and disease management.
2. Healthcare providers will be compensated directly through an employer funded Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) administered by a TPA (Third Party Administrator).
